Favorite Things from April 2020
TV Shows
Criminal Minds:
You can’t go wrong with true crime, and Criminal Minds is an old favorite. I love this show because you don't have to watch any of the episodes in order because they have new plots every episode.
Never Have I Ever:
Personally have not watched this one yet, but my friends RAVE about this new title on Netflix. Definitely on my to be watched list!
Tiger King:
If you haven't watched Tiger King like the rest of the world...you NEED TO a strangely addicting show that is about everything from tigers to unsolved murder. I personally binged in 2 days!!
Game of Thrones:
I have finally committed to watching this show during this time off. I am very late, but I do want to see if it lives up to all the hype!
90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days:
I saw a super funny clip of this show on TikTok a few weeks ago and thought that it could fill the hole in my heart for reality tv as I wait for the new season of the Bachelorette to air, and this show is such a whirlwind and worth the watch if you enjoy reality tv. PS. I recommend Season 4
Russian Doll:
I stumbled across this show not too long ago and I was so sad that it didn’t get the attention I think it deserves. It's only a season-long but it is a really well-written show about an unending day.
Movies
Silverlingings Playbook:
It doesn’t get much better than this movie folks! Starring my favorite person Jennifer Lawrence, all I can say is if you like dark humor and unlikely romance this is definitely for you.
Split:
This is for the suspense/thriller lovers out there, but nonetheless definitely a must-watch.
Okja:
I watched this around this time last year, but it is so beautifully written and shot, it is a story about a girl and her massive animal friend Okja but as a large corporation captures Okja Mija makes it her mission to save her.
La La Land:
It has been some time since this musical came out but I still love the soundtrack and the plotline of this movie! This is my favorite feel-good movie!
Our Planet:
Awesome documentary in honor of earth day!
Worlds Most Extrodinary Homes:
Great series on Netflix for the HGTV fans out there!
Books
Daisy Jones& The Six:
This is a story about a rock band's rise to fame in the 70s. This story is unique in the way that it is written almost like a play/transcript, but this style tells the story of all 6 band members' experiences with life and stardom. I read this book in a day, I could not put it down!
A Kind Worth Killing:
If you are a psychological thriller/suspense junkie like me you will love this book. The story opens with a man and woman, Ted and Lily, chatting in an airport lounge. Ted is upset because he recently found out his wife, Miranda is cheating on him. Lily encourages him to talk and says she'll help him kill his wife. Ted agrees, in part because he's attracted to Lily. The chapters alternate in their points of view, so we see the story unfold from both Ted and Lily's perspective. Super good read!!
Becoming:
By the one and only Michelle Obama, a great book packed with amazing advice and stories from her life.
